bye bye

After 5 1/2 years of duty, ORDB.org is shutting down
http://www.ordb.org/news/?id=38

nowadays it does not make any sense to monitor open relay addresses, because most of the SPAM are not from open relay, comes from botnet..

I remember when I used to post on antispam militia, they are the most ferorious people I've ever met in the Net... reading their replies you can feel the anger against spammer. I had the feeling their policy is guilty until proven otherwise...

M$ Vista DRM: longest suicide note in history

A very interesing paper written by Peter Gutmann:

A Cost Analysis of Windows Vista Content Protection

<snip>
Executive Summary
-----------------
Windows Vista includes an extensive reworking of core OS elements in order to provide content protection for so-called "premium content", typically HD data from Blu-Ray and HD-DVD sources. Providing this protection incurs considerable costs in terms of system performance, system stability, technical support overhead, and hardware and software cost. These issues affect not only users of Vista but the entire PC industry, since the effects of the protection measures extend to cover all hardware and software that will ever come into contact with Vista, even if it's not used directly with Vista (for example hardware in a Macintosh computer or on a Linux server). This document analyses the cost involved in Vista's content protection, and the collateral damage that this incurs throughout the computer industry.

Executive Executive Summary
---------------------------
The Vista Content Protection specification could very well constitute the longest suicide note in history.

Étymologie du Jour: Venezia

I just found out that Venezia is from Latin veni and etiam aka vieni and ancora, meaning: come again.
This is so true, I've been to Venezia 40, 50, 60 times?!? And every time I put my feet in Venezia I get excited, I cant get enough of Venezia... so beautiful so magical...

I never feel bored to go to Venezia, any time is a good occasion to spend a day in Venezia...

Even that I am not fond of venetians (I reckon no one in Italy likes them), and got terrible cappuccino experience (50 euros !!! for 3 cappuccini and a glass of water in Piazza San Marco)

I just want to come again...
